Well dear here I am going to discuss with you about the topic AF. Actually there are a lot of full form having different meaning of AF. But here I am going to discuss with you about Atrial Fibrillation. Here AF  is an acronym used for Atrial Fibrillation. Now let me discuss with you about the meaning as well as other important things about the atrial fibrillation.

Actually Atrial Fibrillation is an abnormal heart rhythm characterized by rapid as well as irregular beating. Also often begins as short periods of abnormal beating which became longer as well as possibly constant over time. In fact most of the episodes have no symptoms. Occasionally there may be heart palpitations, fainting, shortness breath, lightheadedness or chest pain. There are quite a few things in this case. The very disease is associated with an increased chances of dementia, heart failure as well as stroke. This is a type of supraventricular tachycardia.

Firstly I want to tell you that Atrial Fibrillation is one of the most common type of irregular heartbeat. The abnormal firing of electrical impulses causes the atria to quiver. For your kind information atria is the top chamber in the heart. Let me share with you some common symptoms of atrial fibrillation.

Some Most Common Symptoms of Atrial Fibrillation

Well dear there are some of the common symptoms of Atrial Fibrillation. I am going to share some of things regarding this.

Sometimes people with this type of thing have no symptoms. Also their condition is only detectable upon physical examination. Many may experience one or more symptoms. Here I am providing you some of the symptoms following-

1. The first one is General fatigue. Any person having this type of symptom may be suffering from this type of disease.
2. Another one is that of rapid as well as irregular heartbeat. This is one of the main symptoms of Atrial Fibrillation.
3. Apart from the above mentioned thing there are many symptoms as well. This includes fluttering or thumping in the chest as well.
4. Dizziness is also one of the issue a person suffering from the disease may have.
5. Also this includes shortness of breath and anxiety.
6. Also there may be weakness.
7. Faintness or confusion may be there.
8. Fatigue while exercising.
9. Apart from above mentioned, it includes sweating.
10. Also it includes chest pain or pressure.

Causes of Atrial Fibrillation

Dear there is a bond between AF  and on the other side, several forms of cardiovascular disease. But it may also occur in otherwise normal hearts too. Cardiovascular factors in fact known to be associated with the development of Atrial Fibrillation include factors like high blood pressure, coronary artery disease, mitral regurgitation, also enlargement of left atrial part. Apart from this, it also includes hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, congenital heart disease as well as previous heart surgery.

Also lung disease like that of cancer especially lung cancer, and other lung disease including pneumonia and pulmonary embolism are thought to play a very crucial role in may people. Also disorder of breathing while sleep like that of OSA which stands for Obstructive Sleep Apnea, are also associated with Atrial Fibrillation.The risk factor for Atrial Fibrillation is Obesity. There are quite a few factors that are responsible for the development of Atrial Fibrillation. There are association of factors like hyperthyroidism and subclinical hyperthyroidism with Atrial Fibrillation.

Diagnosis

So in the previous section I have discussed about the causes. Here I will share about diagnosis.

The evaluation of atrial fibrillation actually involves a determination of the cause of the arrhythmia and classification of the arrhythmia. Actually diagnostic investigation includes a full history as well as physical examination, ECG, also transthoracic echocardiogram, complete blood count and serum thyroid stimulating hormone level.
