The Golden Quadrilateral is in fact a Highway network. This is connecting many of the major industrial and agricultural as well as cultural centers of India. This is the main motive and plan of this Golden Quadrilateral.

Well here let me mention the things about the Golden Quadrilateral that a quadrilateral of sorts is in fact have been formed by connecting the capital of Tamil Nadu that is Chennai, also Kolkata, Mumbai and Delhi.

And so here is the name Golden Quadrilateral that connects four major parts of India. One of the thing is that the largest highway project in India and apart from the largest project also include the fifth longest project in the world. This was launched in 2001. The then Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee launched the project in fact. The project was completed in the year 2012.

This is actually a part of the NHDP. Here NHDP is an acronym that is used for National Highway Development Project. This is comprised of making about 5846 km four and six lane express highways. This is done at the cost of Rs 600 billion.

And thus there sought a thorough investigation into the case.

According to same report, it was came into light that the corrupt contractors paid bribes as well as gifts in order to influence the actions of officials. Apart from these very things they also supposed to gift golden coins for influencing the things in their favor. As a matter of fact they gifted and paid bribes to the officials and consultants of the NHAI that is National Highway Authority of India.
